CYFAM National Government Applications: 2026-2027 Cycle Now Open
Applications for the 2026-2027 CYFAM National Government are officially open. Whether you have been part of the CYFAMilya for years or are just discovering us, this is your invitation to step forward and contribute to the national movement for Filipinx excellence in medicine.
Two New Tiers to Know About
This year, we are making participation more accessible with two new tracks:
Committee Member. This tier is designed for individuals with limited availability or those already contributing to project-based work, such as Evening Report or similar initiatives. It provides a meaningful way to participate in a national committee without the full-time commitment required for a Chair or Co-Chair role.
Manxng. A new mentorship-focused role for residents and above who want to give back to the pipeline. If you are a resident, fellow, or attending interested in supporting the next generation of Filipinx American physicians, this pilot is for you. Please share this opportunity with anyone in your networks who has been curious about getting involved.
A Note for Returning Leaders
If you are hoping to continue in your current role, please plan to submit a full application this cycle. Because most folks did not complete one last year, this will be a new step for many of you, and we appreciate your patience as we work through it together. If you have any feedback on the process, we would love to hear it. We are always looking to make the experience more accessible and helpful for our community.
Warm Transition and Shadowing (New Pilot)
Applications are opening earlier this year to allow for a one-month shadowing period before incoming chairs and members officially begin their roles. From June 1 through June 30, 2026, new volunteers will work alongside outgoing leaders in a structured handoff. This replaces the more abrupt transitions of prior cycles and creates dedicated space for onboarding, context sharing, and relationship building.
