On the second Wednesday of each month, the CYFAMilya meets on Zoom. The first hour is a workshop or featured event, and the last 30 minutes are updates from our national committees, so anyone can see what CYFAM is building and find a way in.

Established in 2021, the CYFAMilya Mentorship Program connects Filipinx American medical trainees and physicians across the nation. Each Pamilya links one or two Pamilya Heads (attending physicians, fellows, or residents) with medical students and pre-medical students, so guidance flows down and questions flow up. Pamilyas meet through the year, and workshops round out the term.

Grab a coffee and pull up a chair. Each Power Hour invites an attending or practicing physician to talk casually about their specialty, their path, and the questions trainees rarely get to ask. It began as Power 20, a 20-minute chat that kept going whenever the conversation did. Now the conversation has the full hour if it needs it.

A recurring series on the skills health careers rarely teach directly, such as leading a team and working across difference. Sessions count toward the professional development requirement for national leaders.

Each March, our Resident Special Interest Committee celebrates the CYFAMilya members who matched into residency, with a spotlight for each new resident and their program. If you are applying to the Match this year, let us know so we can celebrate you.

Modeled after hospital morning report and The Clinical Problem Solvers, Evening Report pairs a trainee with a physician in a specialty to walk the group through a real patient case. Learners at every level build the differential together, then ask how care should fit the patient's culture and family. Its in-person counterpart, Morning Report, opens Day 2 of every Annual Conference.

Each spring, our International Medical Graduate Committee hosts a virtual panel of Filipinx IMGs from across Philippine medical schools. Panelists cover residency application requirements, ECFMG certification pathways, timelines, and interview preparation, as well as school-specific requirements for MSPEs, Dean's letters, and ECFMG documentation. They also share what helped them match: networking, strategic applications, and interview practice.

Residents walk medical students and IMGs through the residency application season, from writing letters of interest to building a rank order list. A "Life of a Resident" series is in development.

A quarterly online journal club from our Research and Education Committees. Members suggest articles and nominate fellow researchers, then read and discuss studies that matter for Filipinx American health.

A welcoming introduction to the Filipino values that shape how our patients, families, and communities experience care. Each session moves from the word, to a member's story, to a clinical lens, to small-group reflection.

Each summer, CYFAM sponsors a community health fair in Queens, New York, in partnership with the Association of Filipino Scientists of America (AFSA) and APICHA Community Health Center. Trainees and physicians join community partners to bring health education and care to Filipinx and Asian American neighbors.

Our Community Engagement Committee brings clinicians and community members together for public talks on health topics that matter to Filipinx Americans, often with partners.

Each October, our Cultural Committee leads CYFAM's Filipino American History Month programming, honoring the people and stories that shaped Filipinx Americans in medicine.

Kwento Box is CYFAM's podcast of stories from across our community, from trainees and physicians to the families who raised them, delivered like a handwrapped care package.

SI-LAB (Filipino for "spark") is CYFAM's creative sandbox for culturally resonant health communication. Trainees, clinicians, and community members take a project through six steps, and every two weeks a WIP (work-in-progress) session gives honest cultural and clinical feedback in a safe-to-fail space. WIPs are pakikisama in practice and are open to all of CYFAM.
