About CYFAM

The Council of Young Filipinx Americans in Medicine (CYFAM) is a wide-reaching national network for advocacy, scholarship, and community partnership. Dedicated to its mission of promoting the leadership development of young Filipinx American physicians and trainees, reinforcing the educational pipeline, and addressing structural health inequities, CYFAM strives to foster a space that welcomes all who share in its mission. Since its founding in 2019, CYFAM has represented over 595 trainees and professionals across the United States. Its programming has impacted over 100 trainees, and its public health endeavors have reached over 500k Filipinx Americans.

CYFAM’s vision is to embolden physician leaders to amplify the voice of our members, patients, and community. We will unify the diverse lived experiences of the young Filipinx American physician community. We will equip and empower every Filipinx American medical student, trainee, and physician to be an effective change agent in tackling our community's most pressing health priorities.

About the Artist

Neeku Salehi

Ms. Salehi is an undergraduate student at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) double majoring in Design Media Arts and Fine Arts with a minor in Cognitive Science. She is passionate about creating artworks that deepen understanding between individuals. She focuses her work primarily in interactive media (game design & VR), animation (2D & 3D), and graphic design. She has created design work for national organizations and nonprofits, including Medicine & Engineering Honor Society, Aristotle’s Mentorship, Socrates' Circle, and Association of Philippine Physicians in America. Additionally, she is a part of the art division for the Bruin Review at UCLA, creating artwork to promote positive discourse on campus.
