CYFAM International Medical Graduate (IMG) Resources

CYFAM’s International Medical Graduate (IMG) committee was formed to support Filipinx and Filipinx-American physicians as they pursue residency training in the United States. In the spirit of kapwa, bayanihan, and pakikisama, this platform brings together shared experiences and practical guidance to help clarify the process and support applicants along the way.

Background

Council of Young Filipinx Americans Medicine (CYFAM)'s International Medical Graduate Committee features a Virtual IMG Panel, "Basics of the Residency Match 2026-2027 for Filipinx IMGs", representing different Philippine medical schools.

This virtual IMG panel provides practical guidance for IMGs navigating the U.S. residency application process, covering basic requirements for residency applications, ECFMG certification pathways, application timelines, and interview preparation, as well as specific school requirements for MSPEs, Dean's letters, and ECFMG documentation. They also share tips for matching including the importance of networking, strategic applications, and interview preparation.
