    Get mentored and build your path.

    • CYFAMilya Mentee1 term

      Join a tiered CYFAMilya and grow with guidance from residents and fellows, one stage ahead of you.

    Your CYFAMilya: residents and fellows mentor you, and you mentor pre-med students.

  3. Lead

    Join a Core Committee and grow with each term.

    How you grow inside a committeeSenior roles are earned after 2 terms

    Rungs 1 to 3 are open to you now; Senior Chair is earned after 2 terms as Chair. Director tiers open at the resident stage, and tiers you earn stay in good standing.

    • Committee Member1 term

      Join one of CYFAM's Core Committees and contribute to its programs and projects. This is the first rung of the Committee Tier Ladder.

      Open to any community member joining a committee

    • Chair1 term

      Carry committee programming and projects, working alongside your Director.

      Eligibility
      At least one term as a Committee Member

    • Senior Chair1 term

      Carry committee programming and projects with the seniority and continuity that come from tenure.

      Eligibility
      Earned after completing 2 terms as a Chair. Not open to direct application.
      Commitment

      Earned through service in CYFAM, not by application
    • Regional Leader1 term

      Serve as the primary representative and organizer for CYFAM activities in your region.

      Eligibility
      Attend at least 3 CYFAM-hosted events in the prior academic year

  4. Guide

    Mentor others and share what you know.

    • CYFAMilya Mentor1 term

      Pay it forward by mentoring pre-med students in your CYFAMilya, while your own mentor guides you.

  5. Give back

    Advise and sponsor CYFAM.

Become a Member
Roles follow the CYFAM Committee Tier Ladder (2026–2027 pilot) and Membership Engagement Menus. A term runs July 1 to June 30. Manxng is CYFAM's gender-neutral honorific for Directors. General Members simply sign up each year. CYFAMilyas are tiered mentorship families that link each stage to the next.
