Meet the Conference Planning Committee

Conference Coordinators
Conference Coordinators lead the development and implementation of CYFAM’s annual conference. They further oversee Conference Planning Sub-Committees.

  • Isabel Armedilla

    Head of Workshop, Safety & Security, and Exhibition

    Isabel Armedilla is a post-baccalaureate student at Florida International University. She earned her B.S. in Health Education from the University of Florida, where she developed a passion for addressing social determinants of health within patient care through her involvement with UF’s Mobile Outreach Clinic. She plans to apply to medical school next cycle to become a faithful advocate and practitioner of equitable and accessible medicine to underserved and underrepresented communities. She serves as a CYFAM Conference Committee co-chair and is excited to curate the annual conference to reflect the strength of CYFAM’s vibrant and diverse community when together. In her free time, she enjoys practicing her Spanish, cooking, and rollerskating.

  • Diana Del Rosario

    Head of Logistics and Research

    Diana Del Rosario (she/her) is a Program Coordinator and Clinical Assistant at a community clinic dedicated to serving unhoused and uninsured populations. Bay Area native and proud graduate of UC Davis, Diana is committed to health equity and creating accessible, compassionate care for marginalized communities. In her current role, she helps manage day-to-day clinic operations and works closely with medical and volunteer teams to ensure continuity and dignity with care for their patients. Outside of her professional life, Diana finds joy in the outdoors, likes to go hiking and camping, and recently picked up golfing. She also loves sharing yummy meals with family and friends and discovering new places to eat!

  • Pierre Anton Marbid

    Head of Social, Cultural, and Mentorship

    Pierre Anton Marbid is a third-year undergraduate student in the seven-year Sophie Davis B.S./M.D. Program at the CUNY School of Medicine, pursuing a double major in biomedical sciences and psychology, with a minor in health justice. He currently serves as a Chair for the CYFAM Conference Committee, where he works to uplift Filipinx representation in medicine and build spaces that foster connection, mentorship, and community. Pierre is passionate about the role of policy in delivering equitable and effective healthcare, and is committed to serving the underserved populations of his city. Outside of academics, he enjoys volunteering at community health events and playing piano in Sophie’s Beat, a student-run group that brings live music to local hospitals. A proud native New Yorker, you can find him running in Forest Park, running through Grand Central to catch the train, and running on Dunkin’.

  • Myka Salvacion

    Head of Publicity, Program, and Engagement & Evaluation

    Myka Salvacion is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Molecular & Cell Biology and minors in Anthropology and Chemistry. She has served the Filipino community at Penn, Philadelphia, and beyond as the former President of the Penn Philippine Association and Co-Chairperson of FIND District 5. Since high school, she has been involved in cancer research, as an undergraduate researcher at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and research specialist at Penn Medicine. As she takes her gap year to apply for medical school, she hopes to become a doctor who practices active empathy and cultural understanding in caring for her patients by listening to others’ lived experiences and perspectives. As a lover of anything and everything art-related, Myka also enjoys drawing, reading historical fiction, going to concerts, and discovering new music.

  • Alphonse Rafaelo Sinlao

    Logistics Committee

    Alphonse Rafaelo Sinlao is currently a first-year medical student at the City University of New York (CUNY) School of Medicine. He graduated with a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences from the City College of New York as part of the Sophie Davis Biomedical Education program. He is interested in pursuing a career in Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine, with a passion to help patients at their most vulnerable moments. Outside of academics, he loves running, playing basketball, watching the NBA, reading books on self-improvement and Catholic theology, and exploring NYC to find great spots to eat.

  • Maggie Eckerstorfer

    Logistics Committee

    Maggie (she/they) is currently an M1 student at the University of Minnesota Medical School. Before medical school, she cofounded and managed the UMN Mobile Health Initiative providing care to migrant farmworkers, new arrivals, and rural and urban Minnesota. Her undergraduate degree was in Spanish Studies. In her free time, she's currently learning Portuguese and Tagalog, with a love for good music and pop culture.

  • Manny Aquino

    Mentorship Committee

    Manny is a first year undergraduate student at the University of Southern California, where he is majoring in computational neuroscience, and plans to minor in Global Health. He has a strong passion in addressing global health disparitiies, especially among Filipinos, and enjoys volunteering in and around his community.

  • Maria Poblete

    Mentorship Committee

    Maria Poblete is an MS1 at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston with a BS in Neuroscience from UCLA. She has experience coordinating clinical studies and working closely with families affected by pediatric neurodegenerative diseases and rare disorders. In the future, she would like to work in pediatrics and is especially interested in providing complex care and holistic support for children and their families.

  • Sophia Soriano

    Mentorship Committee

    Sophia Soriano (she/her/hers) is a recent graduate from UCLA with a degree in Human Biology and Society and a double minor in Global Health and Disability Studies. She is currently spending her gap years studying for the MCAT, doing community health work through organizations such as the Mobile Clinic Project at UCLA and Los Angeles Kalusugan Collective (LAKAS), and spending time with loved ones back in her hometown of Carson. She was inspired to pursue a career in medicine after supporting her mother who was a caregiver for her Lola, understanding the need for compassionate healthcare centered on equity and justice for underserved communities.

  • Denise Fajardo

    Publicity Committee

    Denise Fajardo is a first-year medical student at Wayne State School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. She is interested in furthering research within the Filipino community and aspire to become a physician who is culturally competent and empathetic towards her patients.

  • Marie Mina

    Publicity Committee

    Marie Mina was born in Manila and raised in Houston, Texas. She is currently a post-baccalaureate student at Lone Star College, and she earned her B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from the University of Houston. After graduation, Marie spent a year at a psychiatric community clinic working with Harris Health, participated as a 2025 Fellow for Asian Texans for Justice, and currently volunteers for MD Anderson Cancer Center and Boat People SOS Houston, a free clinic for immigrant populations in Houston's Chinatown. Marie hopes to become a physician who is trauma-informed, patient-centered, and community-driven.

  • Lara Castaneda

    Publicity Committee

    Lara Castaneda is a third-year medical student at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in Middletown, New York. She is originally from Westchester, NY, and went to Stony Brook University for her undergrad. She is passionate about community engagement, Filipino representation in medicine, and bringing creativity into everything she does. When not in the hospital or studying, you’ll probably find her on the volleyball court, experimenting with nail art designs, at concerts, or trying out new cafe spots!

  • Roma Fe Mabanag

    Research Committee

    Dr. Roma Fe Mabanag earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from San Beda University and is currently pursuing her Postdoctoral Fellowship in Orthopaedic Biomechanics at the University of Illinois Chicago, where she focuses on advancing research in musculoskeletal innovation, personalized medicine, applied engineering, arthroplasty, joint replacement, and implant design.

  • Megan Lloren

    Social Committee

    Megan Lloren is a second-year undergraduate student in the seven-year Seton Hall University Joint B.S./M.D. Program, pursuing a double major in biology and diplomacy/international relations, with a minor in Spanish. She is passionate about advancing health equity and improving drug accessibility through advocacy at all levels, committed to amplifying the voices of underserved and underrepresented communities in healthcare. Outside of CYFAM, she can be found sipping on matcha with a good book in hand, soaking up the thrill of a Broadway show, or unwinding by composing songs.

  • Christian Denolan

    Workshop Committee

    Christian Denolan is a first-year medical student at McGovern Medical School in Houston, Texas. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin where he graduated in 2022. During his gap years, Christian volunteered at Health for All, a free health clinic in Bryan, Texas dedicated to increasing accessibility to healthcare to uninsured patients, was an intern at Pride Community Center where he started a project creating safe sex kits to distribute out into the local community as part of their HIV/STD prevention health initiative, and worked as a medical scribe in the emergency department. Christian is passionate about LGBTQ+ healthcare, helping marginalized patient populations, and is interested in Dermatology, specifically HIV dermatology and cutaneous infectious disease. In his free time, Christian likes to go bouldering, go to concerts, and try new restaurants!

  • Joselyn Alanzalon

    Workshop Committee

    Joselyn Alanzalon is an OMS-IV at Western University of Health Sciences, COMP in Pomona, CA, originally from San Francisco. She earned dual degrees in Economics and Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology from UC Santa Cruz in 2019. Prior to medical school, she gained clinical experience as a medical assistant at a private ophthalmology clinic and served the Filipinx community through the Mabuhay Health Center. Passionate about fostering Filipinx representation in medicine, Joselyn has continued her involvement with CYFAM as a Workshop Committee volunteer and is applying into Pediatrics, where she hopes to combine her love for mentorship, advocacy, and community-centered care to uplift future generations of Filipinx physicians.

  • Mariel Lansangan

    Workshop Committee

    Mariel Lansangan is a pre-medical student in her gap year. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience with minors in Chemistry and Psychology at Regis University in 2019. She later earned her Master of Science in Health Systems Science from Cedars-Sinai Health Sciences University in 2025. She is passionate about medicine, service, and advancing patient-centered care. Currently, she is an administrative manager in a private practice specializing in pediatric ophthalmology.
